Kick off Summer with Aquarius on Memorial Weekend with R.E.D. Friday and Fireworks

Join Aquarius Casino Resort as they kick off the summer on Memorial Day weekend with R.E.D. Friday and fireworks.
Help Aquarius to paint the tri-state area R.E.D. on Friday, May 26, 2017, in support of our military members, past and present by wearing their R.E.D. (Remember Everyone Deployed) T-shirts. The mission of RedShirtFridays.org, a non-political organization dedicated to honoring our nation’s servicemen and women serving our country overseas.

Team Members are given the opportunity to donate $5 and receive a R.E.D. T-shirt to wear at work during the “Casual for a Cause” Friday.

This year Aquarius is extending the opportunity for anyone that would like to participate. For those that want to join Aquarius can visit the ace | PLAY Center inside the casino and purchase a R.E.D. T-shirt for $5 and wear it proudly on May 26, 2017 with the Aquarius team members. Last year Aquarius team member’s raised over $7,300 which is donated to the Tri-State Military Mom’s in Bullhead City, Arizona.

On this Memorial Day, we remember those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.” says Cindy Frizelle, Tri-State Military Mom’s President.

“As a community, we invite you to take it one step further, to honor those who have served this great nation, and support our active duty military who continue to protect those freedoms. By wearing one of the (R.E.D) “Remember Everyone Deployed” T-shirts on May 26, you can show your support and patriotic spirit…and help us to celebrate R.E.D. River Friday on the Colorado River. “Never forget…Freedom has a Price”!”

The Tri-State Military Moms is a local nonprofit organization that sends care packages to U.S. troops deployed overseas. The organization is also responsible for displaying all the banners on Highway 95 in Bullhead City, Arizona, showing the sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, grandsons, granddaughters, and all family members that are currently serving our country. They also organize coming home celebrations for our returning service members.
Laughlin will hold, for the first time ever, a fireworks show, on Sunday, May 28, 2017 over the Colorado River in celebration of our nation’s military servicemen and women. One of the best viewing locations will be along the Aquarius Riverwalk.

HONOR FLIGHT SEND OFF AT AMERICAN LEGION FOR MARINE ROSAMOND NAYLOR

 

On April 14 at 1:30 the American Legion Post #81 in Lake Havasu City will host an Honor Flight send-off for Rosamond (Ros) Naylor.

Ros is a Marine Corps veteran who served during WWII.

I attended a seminar  yesterday.
Edward (Ed) Molina, the Arizona Director of the Veterans Business Outreach Centers, had a seminar at the Mohave Community College in Kingman. Mr. Molina’s goal was to inform Active military, Veterans and their spouses that there are programs available to assist them to make the transition from BOOTS TO BUSINESS.

If you have had thoughts and the passion to start your own business and didn’t know where to turn for help, the Arizona VBOC​, ​the SBA​ and SBDC*​ will provide help in the following areas:

  • Business training
  • Counseling
  • Mentoring
  • Access to Capital
  • Contracting Opportunities
  • And more
Also, if you have already started your own business and need help, it is available.
