Military Moms Host Gold Star Mother’s Day Candlelight Ceremony

The Lake Havasu City Military Moms will host Gold Star Mother’s Day Candlelight Ceremony. We invite everyone in the community to join us to honor our Gold Star Mothers and their children who have been lost. The ceremony is being held at Wheeler Park on September 24, 2017 at 6:30 pm.

The Lake Havasu City Military Moms is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, incorporated in the state of Arizona, with the mission of supporting active duty troops and assisting local veterans in need.

The Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

The Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame to Induct A New Class of 24 Veterans in Ceremonies on October 27, 2017

The annual Induction Ceremony of the Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame will take place on Friday, October 27th, from 11:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Talking Stick Resort Conference Center, 9800 E. Talking Stick Way, Scottsdale, AZ 85256.  Doors open at 11:00 a.m.  The Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame is sponsored and administered by the Unified Arizona Veterans, Inc., Phoenix, Arizona, www.azuav.org.  The Induction Ceremony recognizes and honors Arizona veterans who have honorably served their country and who continue to serve and inspire their fellow American citizens with civic deeds and accomplishments outside their military service, including Arizona Medal of Honor Recipients recognized for valor in action against enemy forces in wartime.  The Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame is recognized by the Governor of Arizona and the Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services, and supported by the Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame Society.  This will be the 17th class of veterans inducted since the inception of the Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame in 2001.

Veterans, military, and the public are invited to the Induction Ceremony, which includes lunch.  The lunch entrée is Herb Roasted Chicken.  Special dietary needs such as requests for vegetarian meals will be accommodated.

Registration Information:  Registration information is now available at the Unified Arizona Veterans website, www.azuav.org.  Please download/print the Registration Form, fill it out, and mail the Registration Form and your check or money order payable to “UAV” to:  UAV, P.O. Box 34338, Phoenix, AZ 85067, Attn: Treasurer.

The “Early Bird” cost is $55 per person until September 30, 2017.  From October 1st to October 13th, the lunch cost changes to $65.  Registrations with payment must be received in the UAV post office box by September 30th, and October 13th, respectively.

Veterans and the public who do not have access to the Registration form on the website www.azuav.org, please contact Carol Culbertson, Secretary, telephone 602.799.9480 cell, to have the form mailed to you.  The final Registration due date is October 13, 2017.  Only registered guests will be allowed to attend the Induction Ceremony and lunch.  All lunches are pre-paid; lunches will not be sold at the

Aquarius Raises $3,731 for Remembering Everyone Deployed

 

 

Aquarius Casino Resort Team Members helped to paint the river R.E.D. on Friday, May 26 in support of our military members, past and present by wearing their R.E.D. (Remember Everyone Deployed) T-shirts. The mission of RedShirtFridays.org, a non-political organization dedicated to honoring our nation’s servicemen and servicewomen serving our country overseas.

Team Members were given the opportunity to donate $5 and receive a R.E.D. T-shirt to wear at work during the “Casual for a Cause” Friday. At the conclusion of the fundraiser, Aquarius Team Members presented a $3,081 check to board members of the Tri-State Military Moms, Inc. representing 100% of the proceeds raised. The sale of shirts continued through Wednesday, May 31 adding an additional $650 that was given to the Tri-State Military Moms, Inc. on Thursday, June 1.
Along with Aquarius Team Members, several local tri-state businesses also held their own R.E.D. Friday including Laughlin Chamber of Commerce, Subway inside Aquarius, Eagle Motorcycle Rentals, Mohave State Bank, Stout Wellness, Bullhead Area Chamber of Commerce and others. Each business choose either to purchase shirts from Aquarius Casino Resort or directly through the Tri-State Military Moms, Inc.
“Aquarius Casino Resort has the best team members who enjoy helping in every way possible.” said Aquarius General Manager Sean Hammond. “And what better cause than our Military Moms!”
All proceeds were donated to the Tri-State Military Moms, a local nonprofit organization that sends care packages to U.S. troops deployed overseas. The organization is also responsible for displaying all the banners on Highway 95 in Bullhead City, Arizona, showing the sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, grandsons, granddaughters, and all family members that are currently serving our country. They also organize coming home celebrations for our returning service members.
